Maintenance Technician

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced full-time maintenance technician in the Roanoke, VA area.  The position requires the skills, abilities and education to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled activities in relation to the maintenance of water and wastewater system.

 Qualifications and Requirements:

• Experience with pumps and control system.
• Experience with point repairs and utility line installation.
  
• Operation of backhoe and other heavy equipment
  
• Valid Drivers License with good driving record - CDL Preferred
  
• Possess excellent communication skills required including demonstrated fluency with reading, writing and speaking the English language
• Knowledge of water and wastewater systems, mechanical and electrical systems.

Water Plant Operator

• Directly responsible for managing operations and maintenance of the water treatment systems, including daily operation checks, sampling and necessary tests, flow measures, chemical dosage, troubleshooting, recordkeeping, preventive and corrective maintenance, and other essential duties
• Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
• Ensure effective communication with supervisory personnel
• Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum of a Virginia Class '4' Water certification.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Valid Drivers License with good driving record
• Possess excellent communication skills required including demonstrated fluency with reading, writing and speaking the English language
• Knowledge of potable water treatment, mechanical and electrical systems 

Salary:
